baddi university of emerging sciences & technology (buest), commonly known as baddi university, is a private institution established in 2002 and recognized by the university grants commission (ugc). initially named institute of engineering and emerging technology (ieet), it achieved university status in 2009. the university has approvals from the all india council for technical education (aicte) and the pharmacy council of india (pci). in the indian institutional ranking framework (iirf) ranking 2023, baddi university ranked 146th out of 171 colleges in india. the university comprises seven schools offering various courses such as btech, bca, bcom, bpharm, mba, msc, mca, mtech, and phd. notable schools include the school of management studies (sms), school of sciences (sos), and the school of pharmacy and emerging sciences (spes). spes is recognized as one of india's top pharmacy institutes by a survey conducted by aicte in collaboration with cii. the himachal pradesh private educational institutions regulatory commission (hp perc) has approved the btech and mtech courses at baddi university. admissions are based on national/state level entrance exam scores and the buest entrance exam. the 40-acre baddi university campus features smart classrooms, an auditorium, modern laboratories, a library, a gym, and various sports facilities including badminton and tennis courts, a basketball court, and football and cricket fields.
